The BTSA-5 is a lightweight, battery operated, TV and satellite analyzer. This unit is ideal for making signal test measurements of all standard broadcast (VHF and UHF), CAT V, and satellite frequencies, plus FM broadcast frequencies. Visual level, aural level, visual frequency, visual / aural verification measurements are available. The BTSA-5 uses a high capacity NI-CAD battery to provide up to 1.5 hours of continuous operation. An integrated battery charger will conveniently recharge the BTSA-5 overnight (approximately 10 hours).

The BTSA-5 provides continuous tuning to any carrier in the 46 to 890 MHz and 890 to 2150 MHz frequency range. Level, frequency, and visual / aural verification measurements are available using an integrated black/white CRTmonitor and internal speaker. This instrument is compatible with various television standards and uses a true peak detector for accurate signal measurements. The BTSA-5 offers high precision, wide dynamic range, and is suitable for making a variety of signal measurements. This instrument functions as a combined field strength meter and spectrum analyzer with two available modes of operation, either terrestrial (46 to 890 MHz) or satellite (890 to 2150 MHz). Awide array of measurements can be performed, including: carrier level, spectral analysis (with adjustable frequency span), satellite cross polarization, and carrier to noise ratio (CNR). The BTSA-5 has a complete set of satellite controls for easy setup of satellite measure-ments, including normal/reverse polarity (C/KU), LNB control voltage (12V, 18 V, and 22 kHz) and mechanical polarotor operation.

The BTSA-5 is housed in a compact, rugged case and comes complete with transparent protective face cover, CRT light shield, transport handle, carrying bag with shoulder strap, and various adapters. An AC transformer is also included for convenient charging of the internal NI-CAD battery. All controls and indicators are located on the front panel for ease of use.
