     The CDSR-6197 is a professional quality, high performance, commercial digital satellite receiver. The unit is designed to receive the MPEG II, DVB compliant DISH® Network programs. The CDSR-6197 is ideal for private cable systems requiring a single small DBS antenna while maintaining the highest signal quality and reliability. Proprietary on-board software shields the receiver from consumer DBS transmitted instructions.

     The on-board, password protected commercial software guides the installer through front panel display menus for receiver configuration and status monitoring. On screen displays common to consumer receivers are defeated by the commercial software unless activated by the installer. Remote communication with the receiver is provided via a 485 port. Each receiver has a unique address stored on the communication card that allows headend reconfiguration from a personal computer. The receiver automatically handles virtual channel mapping using a programmer transmitted satellite transponder lookup table.

     The CDSR-6197 delivers the best possible video and audio quality by using a combination of forward error correction (FEC) techniques. Monaural and balanced stereo audio outputs are provided. Afront panel video monitor BNC connec-tor allows viewing the receiver output prior to external A/V modulation. The unit is housed in a single RU height rack mountable chassis with temperature activated forced air cooling.
