C2-3 Agile UHF Audio/Video Modulators FAVM Series The FAVM-860 is a professional quality, agile UHF audio/video m o d u l a t o r. The FAVM-860 is ideal for placing audio and video onto any unused channel (broadcast and CAT V, including HRC and IRC assign-ments). Any standard audio/video source can be used, such as satellite receivers, television cameras, video tape recorders, or television demodulators. Agile channel selection permits on-the-fly channel changes and reduces the need for large inventories of channelized products.

The FAVM-860 takes baseband audio and video and modulates these signals onto any channel in the 470 to 860 MHz frequency range. All models feature rock solid, synthesized frequency control, with a tuning increment of 12.5 kHz. Frequency selection is accomplished via front panel DIPswitches. True vestigial sideband SAW filtering guarantees superior broadcast pic-ture quality. These modulators have an external IF loop, which allows interfacing with video all-call and signal scrambling systems. The FAVM-860 provides extremely clean output signals with distortion products (-60 dB or better). An exceptionally low broadband noise floor (-83 dBc or better) makes the FAVM-860 ideal for large, multiple channel headends without the need for additional filter-ing. The FAVM-860 accepts standard polarity (sync negative) video in the range of 0.7 to 2.5 V p-p. Field-defeatable audio pre-emphasis enables transmission of BTSC standard composite stereo signals.

The FAVM-860 is housed in a single height, 1.75" high, rack mountable, aluminum chassis. The units have a complete set of level controls, including: video, audio, aural carrier, and RF output. All controls are located on the front panel for ease of operation.
