Travel Smart by Franzus offers two types of Adapter Plugs for International Electrical Outlets (Ungrounded or Grounded).
Ungrounded Two Pin Adapter Plug accepts appliances with a polarized or non-polarized 2-pin parallel plug, such as hair dryers, shavers, etc. These plugs can be used with converters and dual voltage appliances to allow the appliance to fit into various wall outlets. Travel Smart’s special oval shape plugs will fit most "recessed" and "flat" wall outlets – internationally.
Some 110V countries may use a non-polarized outlet which will require your appliance’s polarized plug to use Travel Smart’s adapter plug NW-3 (i.e., a Polarized Plug features one-plug prong wider than other). The NW-3 accepts polarized plugs yet it’s prongs fit non-polarized outlets.
Grounded Adapter Plugs by Franzus accept appliances with grounded or ungrounded, polarized or non-polarized plugs from almost every country in the world and allows the grounded appliance to be used in various grounded wall outlets. These plugs accept 2 pin grounded and 3 pin grounded plugs found on polarized or non-polarized appliances, transformers, converters and dual wattage appliances. These grounded plugs are recommended for travelers with computers, stereos, power tools and other high wattage appliances with a grounded pin plug.
NOTE: Adapter plugs do not convert electricity and should only be used with converters, transformers or dual voltage appliances.

Understanding Electricity Basics … What in the World is the Difference? North America and most of South America operates on 110/125 volt alternating current (AC). However, most of the world operates on 220/250 volt AC, which is twice the voltage. This means that when appliances made for use in North/South America are plugged into a 220V outlet, the motor goes faster than it was designed to, damaging or destroying the appliance. In order to use a North/South American 110/125V appliance abroad, it is necessary to convert (or Stepdown) the 220/250 volt electricity to 110/125 volts with either a converter or transformer. Please note – in countries with voltages from 100 up to 127 volts (i.e., Japan) – no conversion is required. Note: Many Cruise Ships use 220/250V – be sure to check with your Cruise Line or Travel Agent.
Appliances made for use in countries other than the Americas and rated 220/250 Volts AC when used in a 110/250 Volt Alternating Current Country will need to convert (or Step Up) the 110/125 Volt electricity to 220/250 Volts with either a Step Up Converter or Transformer.
DUAL VOLTAGE APPLIANCES HIT THE ROAD
An increasing number of hair dryers, clothes steamers, computers, and travel irons are dual voltage (110/250V). These dual voltage appliances can be used in countries with either 110/125V or 220/250V AC currents. You do not need to use a converter or transformer with these appliances. You may still need an adapter plug to plug the appliance into the wall outlet. To determine if your appliance is dual voltage, look for a 110/220 voltage switch or a label on the back of the appliance that reads 110/220V or 120/240V. The rating plate on your appliance will also indicate 110/220V or 120/240V if it is a dual voltage unit. If there is a voltage switch, always select the proper voltage setting for the country you’re in before plugging the appliance into the electrical outlet.
OUTLETS
Electrical wall outlets are different shapes and arrangements all around the World. North America is a different outlet than Continental Europe, which is different than England and which is different from Asia. Within Continental Europe and Asia, there are different outlets in the various Countries. Therefore, you may need an adapter plug in order to allow your converter/transformer or dual voltage appliance to fit into various wall outlets. Adapter plugs only allow you to plug your appliance or converter/transformer into a foreign electrical wall but they DO NOT CONVERT ELECTRICITY.
